Feel the spirit of this sacred pilgrimage route

The Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site that stretches across Mie, Nara, Wakayama, and Osaka Prefecture, is one of the most revered grounds of Japan.

Said to be a sacred destination where its visitors receive healing, it is also well known for nature worship and as the home of the gods.

Be transported back in time by putting on a kimono from the Heian period (794-1185) and visiting Kumano Kodo's Daimonzaka and Kumano Nachi Taisha Grand Shrine!

Rather different in appearance from the typical kimono, these Heian outfits are recreated from the 9th century!

Feel the spirit of this sacred pilgrimage route as you traverse the same path that those from the Heian period walked as well.
