The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has just approved the project of eco-tourism, resort and entertainment in U Minh Ha National Park (NP) until 2030. This is an opportunity to revive the potential and advantages of tourism development. tourism, associated with the conservation of biodiversity ecosystems of Melaleuca forests.

U Minh Ha National Park (Vo Doi Hamlet, Tran Hoi Commune, Tran Van Thoi District) is one of 34 national parks of the country, recognized by UNESCO as one of the three core areas of Mui Ca World Biosphere Reserve. Quickly. Of the more than 8,500 ha managed by U Minh Ha National Park, about 1,761 ha are primary forest. This is the only remaining primeval forest area of ​​Ca Mau province, with about 176 species of plants, 23 species of mammals, 91 species of birds and 47 species of amphibians and reptiles.

The project is built with a budget of more than 1,400 billion VND, but the State budget only accounts for a small part (more than 52 billion VND), the rest is from social mobilization for tourism. The project implementation period is from now to 2030.

Mr. Ho Hoang Ca, Deputy Director of U Minh Ha National Park, said: "According to the scheme, the total area of ​​1,318.5 ha is planned, divided into 6 subdivisions: tourist reception area; eco-tourism area. ; medicinal garden; re-enactment of forest villages and traditional craft villages; resort; area for planting souvenir trees.

The construction of resorts and eco-tourism in U Minh Ha National Park will connect the surrounding tourist routes such as: Hon Da Bac Tourist Area, Song Trem Ecotourism Area, community tourist attractions in the area. the area of ​​U Minh district and other districts in the province. Tourism development in this area will create livelihoods for people, increase income, improve material and cultural life, as well as raise people's awareness in management, protection and development. forest development.

Mr. Ho Hoang Ca added that the unit is currently focusing on preparing the necessary procedures and conditions to invite investors to participate. According to the plan, by April 2024, the unit will complete the zoning plan so that investors can access the plan soon. Currently, 7 businesses have registered to participate. The unit is proposing the province to invest in the implementation of basic works such as: welcome gate, traffic system, electricity, yard ...
