Kien Giang surveys rural tourism in Dong Thap

Natural conditions at Tram Chim tourist area have many
similarities with some localities of Kien Giang

On May 19 and 20, the delegation of the tourism industry and some localities in Kien Giang province had a survey and learned experience in tourism development at Tram Chim tourist area (Dong Thap).

Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province Nguyen Chi Thanh said that Kien Giang is developing strongly in sea and island tourism. However, in terms of agricultural and rural tourism, Kien Giang community tourism has not been well exploited despite having many potentials and strengths. Therefore, Kien Giang hopes that after the survey, learning experience at Tram Chim tourist area can apply and exploit the existing similar strengths of Kien Giang.

During the survey, the units discussed and exchanged experiences on performing the tasks of forest protection and management, biodiversity conservation, tourism development and environmental education. as well as law enforcement and forest fire prevention and fighting.

According to Kien Giang Department of Tourism, after the business trip, the department continued to survey in localities with strengths in developing rural tourism in the province; continue to invest, form and effectively exploit this type of tourism in the coming time.
