Festivals in St Kitts and Nevis

The Caribbean islands of St Kitts and Nevis stage a number of annual events and celebrations 

St. Kitts is the larger of two islands that make up St. Kitts and Nevis. It offers 18 miles of green mountain ranges between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. 

The beaches range from golden to black volcanic sand. Nevis is known for sandy beaches, including palm-fringed Pinney's Beach and sheltered Oualie Beach.

Booby High Shoals is a popular offshore dive site sheltering sea turtles and stingrays. The island's capital, Charlestown, is filled with Georgian-style buildings and other British colonial relics.

The St. Kitts Music Festival showcases a mix of Soul, Soca, Jazz, R&B and Reggae in an annual celebration of culture and entertainment. www.stkittsmusicfestival.com  

Nevis Mango Festival 30 June to 2 July 2023 

A celebration of mango and culinary excellence, the Nevis Mango Festival features four days of dining experiences, cooking demonstrations and master cook-along classes by international and local celebrity chefs. www.nevismangofest.com 


St. Kitts & Nevis Restaurant Week 13 to 23 July 2023 

The St. Kitts and Nevis Restaurant Week celebrates the best cooking the islands have to offer. Each year restaurants create menus, based on a single local, ingredient, at fixed special prices. 

This year's featured local ingredient is sweet potato. www.restaurantweek.kn 

Nevis Culturama 27 July to 8 August 2023 

The week-long annual summer festival is a showcase of traditional folk art in all its forms, embracing dancing, drama, poetry, folk singing, music, pageants and arts and crafts. www.culturamanevis.com 

Caribbean Premier League Cricket 31 August to 30 September 2023 
Featuring six cricket teams from across the West Indies, the Caribbean Premier League 2023 is set to take place at Warner Park, St Kitts & Nevis. www.cplt20.com 

Independence Day 19 September 2023 

Every year, on 19 September, Kittitians and Nevisians commemorate their independence from Great Britain with music, dancing, and parades. 

With 2023 marking the 40th anniversary of independence, this year’s celebrations are set to be even bigger. 

St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival November 2023 to January 2024 

The St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival, otherwise known as “Sugar Mas”, takes place between November and January and is the only Caribbean carnival to blend the spirit of Christmas into the festivities. 

A six-week series of fĂȘtes with calypso, waterworks, live events and colourful costumes until 2 January when revellers take to the streets for the carnival’s concluding outdoor celebration. www.skncarnival.com
