Wedding Cake at Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire

Wedding Cake by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos will open at Waddesdon Manor on 8 June 2023.

The 12-metre-high sculptural pavilion takes the form of a three-tiered wedding cake and is clad in more than 25,000 ceramic tiles. 

Commissioned by the Rothschild Foundation for Waddesdon, it is a fully immersive sculpture and architectural garden folly. 

Waddesdon Manor Waddesdon Manor itself is a French Renaissance-style château in the village of Waddesdon, in Buckinghamshire, England. 

It was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in 1874 to house his collection of fine art and is surrounded by Victorian-style gardens with Parterre, ornate fountains, statuary, seasonal bedding and a Rococo-style Aviary. 

Waddesdon Manor, which is owned by National Trust and managed by the Rothschild Foundation, it is one of the Trust's most visited properties.
