Festivals in Guernsey 2023

Taste Guernsey Food Festival 
The Islands of Guernsey, in the English Channel near the French coast, also take in Alderney, Sark and Herm.

Taste Guernsey Food Festival 

1 to 30th April 2023
The annual, month-long Taste Guernsey Food Festival celebrates some of the best ingredients and flavours found on Guernsey and its sister islands of Alderney, Sark and Herm. The festival is also a competition between local chefs, who create local dishes, using fresh locally sourced ingredients such as spider crabs and mussels. www.visitguernsey.com/experiences/events/taste-guernsey-foodfestival-23/ 

Guernsey Literary Festival 

10 to 14th May 2023
This annual literary festival offers book signings, readings and meet and greet with authors. www.guernseyliteraryfestival.com

Guernsey’s Renoir Exhibition 

30 September to 14th December 2023
Guernsey will host an exhibition by French painter, Renoir, organised by Art for Guernsey and the Museum of Impressionism Giverny in France. The exhibition will commemorate Renoir’s time in Guernsey, which became the subject of many of his works. Paintings by other artists including Monet and Gauguin are also expected to be included. With the exhibition launching in conjunction with the Moulin Huet Renoir walk, it will be one of the biggest attractions the island has ever seen, celebrating Guernsey’s landscapes.

Guernsey Marathon

2 April 2023
Guernsey Marathon
The annual Sure Guernsey Marathon will take runners past a number of Guernsey’s infamous landmarks, and along it’s stunning rugged coastline. The marathon begins at Havelet, near St. Peter’s Port, continuing along the main roads in the south, before taking on the coastal road on the west coast with views of Guernsey’s many bays and waterfronts. Alongside the marathon will be the Mourant Relay Race, and a two kilometre ‘Fun Run’ for families. www.guernsey-marathon.com


Island Games 

8 to 14 July 2023 This bi-annual, week-long sporting event will see 3,000 participants from 24 islands around the world compete in a variety of 14 sporting activities. The host Island can choose between 12 and 14 sports from a list of 18. To compete in the Games, athletes must have been born in a member Island or have lived on the Island for 12 months prior to the Games. Guernsey will be the first member Island to host the Games three times and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Bailiwick in 2023. There will be competitors from islands including Bermuda, Gibraltar, Iceland and Guernsey, with events from archery and athletics to football and golf.
