On my recent trip to Thailand I had the pleasurable experience of staying at the Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam. This was the very first hotel I stayed at in Bangkok. It was very easy traveling there after my arrival at the Suvarnabhumi Airport on the the Airport Rail Link and BTS. The Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam is convenietly situated right next to the National Stadium BTS Skytrain station. (For those driving, complimentary car parking available for all guests staying at the hotel.)

The Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam building is not a boring vertical rectangular block. Its attractive staggered shape looks good during the day and when lit up at night. It has 300 contemporary styled rooms on 23 floors with panoramic view over Bangkok city and the National Stadium. The modern guest rooms were recently renovated in 2021. 

Check-in went smoothly on the ground floor lobby that had seats and computer work stations for guests to use. Then it was a quick trip up the lift to my hotel on the 19 floor.

My guest room was very clean and comfortable. I liked sleeping in the bed each night after a busy day of sightseeing.  Black-out shades made the room nice and dark each night. The bed was of high quality with international-standard bedding including 200-thred-count sheets, duvet, and a choice of soft and firm pillows. Pure bliss!

The bathroom had a vanity basin, bidet and walk-in shower with a multi-functional power shower head. The supplied bathroom amenities were high quality and a pleasure to use. There was always plenty of hot and cold water to use. Daily housekeeping meant a fresh supply of towels each day. 

We are advised to keep our liquid intakes up. Complimentary bottled water was provided in the room each day. I made use of the tea and coffee supplies, jug and mini-refrigerator several times each day for my hot drinks. 

I enjoyed the selection of satellite channels on the 32-inch LCD TV and the free fast Wi-Fi. In the room there was an ergonomic work station with desk lamp and a secure safe. I made the room just the right temperature with the in-room heating and A/C controls.

I enjoyed the complimentary Express Start Breakfast each morning in the restaurant before heading out to explore the Bangkok attractions. Even though busy, I could always find a seat at a table. I especially liked sitting at the tables near the windows so I could enjoy the outside views. There was a variety of hot and cold dishes, cereal, bakery items, fresh fruit juices and hot drinks to choose from. The selection of tasty hot food changed each day of my three night stay. (There was also a Grab & Go option available for those wanting an early departure.)

The fitness center provides a range of equipment for those eager to work out and is available to use 24-hours each day. It is equipped with treadmills, free weights and stationary bicycle. Its is located on 24th floor, near the rooftop garden, which is a nice place to sit in the cool of the evenings.

As I had just arrived in Bangkok, I did not need to do any laundry, but I noticed a self-service laundry facility that was available for guests to use.

For those guest on business trips to Bangkok, a 10-person meeting room is available to use. The meeting room is equipped with LCD projector, video conferencing equipment and free Wi-Fi

The best feature of the Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam is its location, being located in the centre of Bangkok's famous Siam shopping district. It is just few minutes walk to the left to reach he MBK Shopping Mall, Siam Discovery, Siam Square, Siam Paragon, Central World, and Platinum Fashion Mall. The the right there is the large Lotus’s Rama I Supermarket and many cafes and restaurants. A McDonald's is next door, and several 7-Eleven's are nearby. 

I found the Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam the perfect place to relax and chill out when exploring all Bangkok has to offer.
