Feel Relaxed and Refreshed at the Boutique Poseidon Residence

The famous Jomtien Beach is just below Pattaya, south of Bangkok. It is the ideal escape from the busyness of Thailand's capital city. Here you can relax by sitting on the sandy long beach, listen to your favourite music, swim in the cool water, watch the lively volleyball players, fly a kite, have a picnic or enjoy a few drinks.

I recently stayed at the Poseidon Residence located at Jomtien Beach. This was the second time I have enjoyed the friendly hospitality of this boutique hotel, as I had previously enjoyed my stay there several year ago before covid shut down international travel.

The Poseidon Residence offers a warm welcome to all local and international gay and straight guests. It has a choice 12 intimate guest rooms, studios and suites to suit individuals, couples and partners. Reception is open 24 hours and guest rooms can be accessed by an elevator or stairs. 

I found my room to be very spacious and clean, with attractive decor. I felt like I was staying in a grand European Chateau. The very comfortable king-size bed was a delight to lay on and relax and to sleep on at night. I flicked through the various channels on the flat-screen cable TV while having a cold drink from the bar fridge.

Large windows overlooked a green garden area, with lovely curtains that could be closed at night to make the room dark. The air-conditioned room had free Wi-Fi for me to keep in touch with those back home. The en-suite bathroom had a shower with good rain shower head, toilet, and vanity basin. The sheets and towel were high quality ones so I felt pampered.

The Poseidon restaurant and lobby have recently undergone an amazing refurbishment that looks world-class. I noted the new look is a huge improvement on its previous decor.

The world renowned restaurant "Poseidon's Wine Cellar" offers tasty international cuisine and Thai food in both indoor and outdoor terrace seating areas. I was fortunate to meet their Head Chef, and it was obvious he had a passion for his work creating tasty cuisine. People, whether staying at the hotel or just visiting the area, can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in the “Poseidon’s Wine Cellar”. Unfortunately due to my busy schedule I did not have time to enjoy breakfast there, but I did enjoy my morning cappuccino coffee.

For those wanting a more intimate area to swim than the beach, the Poseidon Residence has its own indoor pool equipped with jet steam and whirlpool. This is a delightful air-conditioned area to relax on the comfortable lounges. It is open 24 hours and is the ideal place to meet other guests and have a drink.

The Poseidon Residence is in a fantastic location. It is very close to the Jomtien Beach, which is a popular beach for the LGBTQI+ community. Along the Jomtien Beach you will find many cafes and restaurants, convenience stores, markets shops, a a Night Market and mobile food vendors.

For those wanting to live it up at night time, the Poseidon Residence is ideally located at the end of a popular gay street. Here, and in the surrounding streets, are more than twenty bars, show bars, cafes and massage parlours. This is the place for those wanting a vibrant night out on the town for a drink and to meet friendly local people and international visitors.

Unfortunately I did not meet Heiko, the owner/manager this time during my stay. However, the staff I did meet were friendly and always willing to please. They all looked good and were well presented. 

The Poseidon Residence is easy to travel to. I took a coach from Bangkok to the Poseidon Residence. It only took 2 hours and I was there. For those driving a car free parking is available.
