Amari Watergate Bangkok is a contemporary designed 5-star hotel with many attractive traditional and modern Thai touches. It is 34 stories high with an attractive 4 storey atrium.

The 569 rooms and suits on offer are spacious and offer a home-away-from-home atmosphere. The interior decor of each room has been thoughtfully designed, with neutral colors highlighted by splashes of colour incorporated in each room. 

I enjoyed my stay in a spacious room with its view over the Bangkok city from the large floor-to-ceiling window that let in an abundance of natural daylight.

My king-sized bed was very comfortable with crisp sheets and large pillows. I felt at home watching the digital TV, using the fast Wi-Fi and making hot drinks. There was a comfy daybed to lounge on, a table and chair, and a workspace. The bathroom had a seperate shower and bathtub, a double vanity basin, with good Breeze amenities provided.

My room offered me access to the private Club Siraa lounge. I was impressed with the lovely personalised service provided at the daily breakfast, afternoon tea and evening beverages & canapés dining experiences.

The Amaya Food Gallery on the 4th floor is an all-day market-style restaurant offering Thai, Asian and International food. I dined there several mornings for breakfast and was very impressed with the huge range of food available and the many cooking stations that cooked my preferred option requests. Different sections offered eggs, bread, desert & fruits, noodles, tea & coffee.

Prego is an Italian fine dining restaurant from Koh Samui with cuisine by Chef Marco Boscaini. I enjoyed my freshly made pasta when I dined there one evening. They also specialise in risottos and pizzas,

Italthai Cellar is a luxurious setting to drop by for a remarkable spectrum of wine and beverages from around the world. 

The Pool Bar is the ideal place for a drink while relaxing in the outside pool area. It serves chilled drinks, juices, smoothies and snacks.

I loved cooling off in the new free-form outdoor swimming pool on the 8th floor and relaxing in the sauna and steam room. The change rooms were spacious and very clean. There was also a children's pool and fully equipped FIT Gym to workout, with the latest cardio machines, as well as free weights. They have 2 squash courts and offer boxing, aerobics and yoga classes in a training studio.

I had a relaxing blissful one-hour classic aromatic massage at the Breeze Spa. Located on the 8th floor, their spa treatments include, traditional Thai massage, aromatic massage, body polishing, facial treatments to a half-day or a full day programmes.

Directly opposite is the Platinum Fashion Mall, with 7 floors crammed with over 2,000 market style shops selling womens, mens and children's clothing, jewellery, cosmetics, souvenirs and luggage. Food can be bought inside the Mall and the kiosks outside the Mall. Just over the canal, with convenient access walking on the elevated walkway, is the CentralWorld shopping mall (with its huge range of designer brands, department stores, food courts, and cinemas) and the Big C Supercentre with its huge supermarket. Behind the Amari Watergate Bangkok is the bustling market stalls at the Indra Square and Pratunam Night Market.

Travel the Amari Watergate Bangkok is easy by train, alighting at the nearby Chit Lom BTS Station, Ratchathewi BTS Station, or Ratchaprarop Airport Rail Link stations.
