Vietnam harvests jillion titles at the World Travel Awards Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2022

The 29th World Travel Awards Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony took place in September in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam is awarded the “Asia's Leading Destination 2022”, “Asia’s Leading Nature Destination 2022”, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) received the “Asia's Leading Tourist Board 2022” award, and several prestigious awards.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT); Mr. Ha Van Sieu, VNAT’s Vice Chairman; Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; Mr. Graham Cooke - President, Founder of World Travel Awards attended the event along with hundreds of continental travel brands and press agencies.

Giving a remark to kick off the event, Mr. Graham Cooke - President, Founder of World Travel Awards sent the warm welcome to all the distinguished guests and showed gratitude to be back to Vietnam and attended the 29th World Travel Awards Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Graham Cooke stated that “Ho Chi Minh City is an impressive cosmopolitan destination, rich in history and culture but with a dynamic, forward-thinking outlook. Vietnam is not only a tremendously exciting destination within Asia, but I believe it will soon become a tourism epicentre on the global stage. We foresee an era of unprecedented growth as more brands and tourism development products are attracted to the nation”

All the award nominees of the WTA 2022 have been recognised by global voting audiences as the tourist areas of tourism excellent throughout Asia and the efforts have been paid off, he emphasised, with the togetherness and determination, Vietnam tourism will be topped among the world, providing products and services to meet the demands of worldwide tourists. Furthermore, raise the standard of the travel industry, make it stronger, more developed and more prosperous.

At the Gala Ceremony 2022, the Organising Board announced the travel awards nominees in the Asia and Oceania region. In this season, Vietnam is the winner of the “Asia's Leading Destination 2022” and “Asia's Leading Nature Destination 2022” nominees. Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is awarded with “Asia's Leading Tourist Board 2022”.

At the local level, Ha Noi, Vietnam is “Asia's Leading City Break Destination 2022”. Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism received “Asia's Leading City Tourist Board 2022”. Ho Chi Minh City received the “Asia’s Leading Business Travel Destination 2022”. Hoi Anis the “Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination 2022”; Da Nang is “Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination 2022”. Moc Chau, Vietnam is “Asia's Leading Regional Nature Destination 2022”.

Thereby, this is the fourth time Vietnam claims as Asia's Leading Destination (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022), affirming the reputation and position in the region and the world; the third time Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is awarded as Asia's Leading Tourist Board (2017, 2019, 2022), acknowledge the ceaseless and effective efforts of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in promoting the recovery and development of Vietnam tourism.

Simultaneously, a series of hotels, luxury resorts, destinations, airlines, and travel agencies of Vietnam were also nominated and awarded.

By receiving an abundance of awards in Asia & Oceania region, Vietnam, once again, has been recognised regionally and internationally, creating a striking step of Vietnam tourism. The World Travel Awards Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2022 is hosted in Ho Chi Minh City and has acted as the affirmation for the trust of the international community and the position of the city in particular, Vietnam in general, as an ideal destination for continental and world-class events.

This is the second time Vietnam hosts this enormous event considered the "Oscars of the world travel industry". In 2019, the finest travel brands in Asia & Oceania were unveiled at a star-studded gala ceremony in the pristine island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. The World Travel Awards Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2022 will be the golden opportunity to promote Vietnam tourism to international friends, elevating the process of tourism recovery in the last months of 2022.
