Fuller’s, the UK pubs and hotels business, has announced its annual Shakespeare in the Garden and Opera in the Garden seasons.

Produced by theatre company Open Bar, the 2022 Shakespeare in the Garden season (20 June to 17 September 2022) will see performances of The Comedy of Errors or The Taming of the Shrew in 59 Fuller’s pub gardens across the Fuller’s estate.

This is the eleventh consecutive year that Fuller’s pub customers have been able to enjoy alfresco productions of the Bard’s plays. www.fullers.co.uk/shakespeare 

Opera in the Garden 

Produced by theatre company Rogue Opera, the 2022 Opera in the Garden season (14 June to 28 July 2022) will present present ‘the best (and worst) characters in opera, taking you through the big tunes, the tear-jerkers, the crowd pleasers and the drinking songs’. 

Beneath the grandeur, elaborate sets and period costumes of traditional opera lie everyday dramas - characters embroiled in family feuds, relationship issues and the highs and lows of falling in and out of love.

This unique production by Rogue Opera weaves a modern story, with new original dialogue, through opera’s big tunes; the tear-jerkers, the crowd-pleasers and, of course, the drinking songs (all performed in their original languages). Encompassing friendship, betrayal, intrigue, love, laughter and mischief, it’s a great evening of entertainment.
