The background of this shrine follows one of Japan's most famous legends, whereby Amaterasu Omikami, the sun goddess, withdrew into a cave (Amano Iwato cave) after a conflict with her brother, then the world went dark.
Other than its beautiful surreal scenery, Amanoyasukawara, where many gods have gathered and consulted with each other in the legend, is also a well-known power spot!
It is believed creating a stack of stones along the shrine’s riverbank and make a wish, it will come true.
