Four seasons oriented Festival Hue 2022: Many activities with full of colours of cultural and arts

After the hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Festival Hue will come back at the end of June with attractive cultural and art shows and festivities, promising to bring exciting experiences for visitors. This is the first festival held in four-season orientation, the highlight is Cultural and Arts Festival Week with the theme “Cultural heritage with integration and development” held from 25th - 30th June 2022.

Kick off a series of the exciting activities of Festival Hue 2022 is the inaugural art show at 8pm on 25th June at Ngo Mon Square. The highlight of the opening night is the art and ao dai shows which will be performed on the stage with unique lighting technology, praising the ancient and heritage land with a long tradition where "Elite converges"; honouring the “green city” with sustainable development; Hue - the Festival city of Asia, shining brightly with Vietnam, to welcome a bright future.

To create an exciting atmosphere for Festival Hue, the Organisation Board will organise Street Parades “Colours of Culture” at 4.30pm from 26th June to 29th June, with the form of street performances of domestic and international art troupes, conveying the cultural heritage values of Hue and regions around the world. The frantic activities can be named: Music and dance festivities, domestic and international variety street show; vintage car parade “Hue - Four seasons blossoms”; traditional art performance show; art parade “Hue kites, Thai Hoa flying wings”.

Joining Festival Hue 2022, local people and visitors will have a chance to enjoy performances from domestic and international art troupes from 7.30pm to 10pm from 26th June to 29th June at the Quoc Tu Giam, Quoc Hoc Stele Monument, Da Vien Islet, 3/2 Park. Famous art troupes including Kid Francescoli band (France), Artist Konoba (Wallonie-Bruxelles, Belgium), Gute Gute band (Israel), Violinist Hoang Rob, Da LAD band, Chillies, etc are expected to bring amazing music and art shows.

Especially, in this Festival occasion, "Ancient Echoes" performance held on 28th June, the show will have the royal classical drama (Tuong) and classical drama masks pocession from Thanh Binh Tu Duong (Worship Hall honoring the ancient ancestors of Tuong) to Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion. On 29th June, at Royal Palace, an art performance called “Palace of Reconciliation” will take place, in which Royal timbre and songs about ancient Hue are arranged by the art of landscape and light installation in the space from Ngo Mon to Thai Hoa Palace.

And one of the indispensable programs in every Hue Festival is Trinh Cong Son Music live night at 8pm on 27th June at Ngo Mon Stage, with the performances of famous singers. Additionally, Beer Festival will take place at 5.30pm on 26th June, hosted by Carlsberg, writing a name in the record of "Asia's longest banquet table of Central people", with the imposing music party, joined by famous artists.

Closing the Festival Hue 2022 will be the Farewell Party “Farewell Hue” taking place at 8pm on 30th June at Da Vien Islet. The Farewell Party will have exchange performances between Vietnamese and international art troupes.

Beside these activities above, Festival Hue 2022 will have fringe activities: Hue Food festival, “rural market festivity”, street food festival, hot air balloon festival, Hue community ao dai festival, EDM music night, Media Trip “Visit Hue” “, international trade fair, Hoang Thanh night street, SUP boat race, along with seminars, exhibitions and art exhibitions…

Festival Hue 2022 will attract visitors to enjoy the lively interference between tradition and modernity, experience fascinating cultural and artistic colours, and immerse themselves in the space of an ancient city and environment friendly, where Vietnamese and international cultural quintessence converges.
