Sri Lanka Update - Omicron variant

With the new hype around detection of Omicron coronavirus variant, I would like to keep all of you appraised of how the Sri Lanka government has reacted to this news.

As of the midnight of 28 Nov 2021, The Sri Lanka Government restricted the entry of travellers from South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe & Eswatini ( Swaziland) . Any travellers that were to arrive on 26 & 27 Nov, from the above mentioned countries were subjected to On arrival PCR test and quarantine at Level safe & secure hotel.

Sri Lanka has not detected the Omicron Coronavirus Variant in Sri Lanka as of now.

We can confirm no changes to already published Sri Lanka entry Health Protocols are envisaged at this moment nor any indication of Further strengthening.

At this moment of time We at Authenticities , Our guides & chauffeurs, and our hotels partners are determined to execute the basic health & Hygiene Protocols, including wearing mask are encouraged at all times.

The government has stepped up on the Pfizer booster vaccination programme. As of yesterday (28th Nov), over 520,000 have received the Pfizer Booster (Third dose). From 1st December, all adults over 20 years have been requested to get their booster vaccination in order to be cautious against the new variant.
