“We want to create something incredibly beautiful for the site and for Sydney – it’s not just a hospitality venue, it will be a space where time almost stands still,” says Choker.
From the quintessential coffee lover to the curious kid, guests will be invited to step into an immersive sensory experience like no other and peer into the world behind the curtains of the coffee cup, at The Grounds Coffee Roastery. The venue’s state-of-the-art coffee roastery will not only offer Australia’s finest cup of coffee, but engage patrons in the entire coffee-making process from bean to brew. Every little step to the art of coffee will be brought to life right before your eyes, as guests will be invited to see where it all starts in the rawest form. From raw to roast, bean to brew; the entire process will surround you.
Led by The Grounds’ passionate team of baristas, behind-the-scenes tours, coffee workshops and freshly roasted coffee beans for sale will also be available for everyone — from the everyday guest with a curiosity for coffee, to the wholesaler sourcing their favourite selections.
"It's been an amazing journey at The Grounds over the last 9 years, I never imagined that my love for coffee would lead me to travelling around the world visiting coffee farms and leading a state-of-the-art roasting facility like this.
