Australian Theatre Community enthusiastically welcomes release of the STAGECENTA App

Australian theatre show guide and theatre ticketing platform, STAGECENTA have officially released their industry first, nationwide FREE mobile Theatre App to help close the gap between theatre productions and their audiences.

The App launched live on both Apple and Google Play stores over the Easter weekend, with actors, creatives, theatre companies and venues flocking to register their information and shows.

Audiences can now locate Every Show, Everywhere, Every Day, across Australia with a swipe of a finger.

“The development of phone technology, in particular Apps, has made delivering the information that a user needs directly into their hands, easier than ever before” says STAGECENTA founder, performer, director, and producer Richard Block.

STAGECENTA is confident that their unique Australia wide App will be an invaluable tool which affords both the industry and audiences an unparalleled interactive segue back to the full theatres they have missed.

The premiere version of the STAGECENTA app has come loaded with these features:
  • Show details and times
  • A geo location function which will discover shows near users
  • Links to ticket purchases
  • Directions to the theatre
  • Cast Biogs and photos
  • Reviews and media links
  • Search Functions
  • The ability to follow cast and creatives and receive notifications of their next performances
  • Five Star show ratings
Initially STAGECENTA is loading shows to the App on behalf of companies. However, due to the simplicity of the process, companies, venues and promoters can also list and edit their own info, making it a powerful free marketing tool. There is now no reason for any show to go unrecognised or promoted.

“All shows deserve to be discovered and seen” says Bernie Ryan, STAGECENTA’S Business Manager. “We are so excited to deliver a free platform which lists and promotes all shows, from the small and local, to large scale professional touring productions. Supporting companies and artists, as well as making theatre and its benefits accessible to a wider demographic” she says.

Actors and creatives can also easily register their profiles via the App, or at www.stagecenta.com including photos and biogs. They can then tag themselves in reviews, photos, and articles.

To celebrate the launch, STAGECENTA will be releasing a range of giveaways and promotions over the coming weeks, as well as attending and promoting many of the shows listed on the App.

The STAGECENTA team come from a variety of theatre production, marketing, PR, performance, programming, and ticketing backgrounds. This skill set and experience base gives them a unique understanding of the needs of those who love to create and enjoy theatre.
