THE HALF MOON BAY COASTSIDE WELCOMES LEISURE TRAVELERS

The Half Moon Bay Coastside has reopened for tourism, welcoming leisure travelers to this magnificent ocean escape located just 30 miles south of San Francisco. Visitors from within the state of California are permitted to immediately enjoy hotels, restaurants, shops, and outside recreation, while anyone arriving from out of state is encouraged to quarantine for 10 days. All businesses have health and safety protocols in place according to the guidelines of the San Mateo County Health Department.

With a steady temperate climate, visitors can enjoy outdoor activities year-round such as horseback riding on the beach, golfing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. There are more than 25 miles of pristine beaches and hundreds of hiking and biking trails to explore.

The Perfect Roadtrip

Regarded as one of the most scenic routes in the world, California’s coast-hugging Rt. 1 winds directly through the Half Moon Bay Coastside. The 1.3 mile Devil’s Slide Trail is the only part of Hwy. 1 that is closed to cars, allowing visitors to walk and bike along some of California’s most dramatic coastline. The area is home to harbor seals, bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, northern elephant seals, and whales.
