Restrictions to ease as Stage Three announced in Queensland

The Queensland Government has today announced the details of Stage Three easing of restrictions, coming into effect from midday this Friday, 3 July.

From Stage Three, businesses can have the maximum number of customers at any one time as the one person per four square metre limit allows, with smaller venues up to 200 square metres allowed one per person per two square metres (up to 50 people at a time). COVID Safe Industry Plans continue to apply.

In welcome news for the state's tourism industry, Queensland's border will open to all states except Victoria from midday next Friday, 10 July. Any person (including Queensland residents) arriving to Queensland from Victoria from midday, Friday 3 July must undergo mandatory hotel quarantine at their own expense.

Concert venues, theatres and auditoriums can also open from Stage Three, providing further good news and increased experiences on offer for travellers.

The updated roadmap identifies that more events will be allowed from Stage Three. When further information and guidelines around events are published, we will notify event organisers and provide updates on our COVID-19 webpages.
