Magewappa Wood Crafdt in Japan

Magewappa is a steam-bending wood craft that uses thin boards of cedar or cypress to make curved wooden products like bento boxes, steamers, or even tubs.

Magewappa is especially renowned in Odate in Akita Prefecture because the craft has been around for centuries, using Akita cedars that are over a hundred years old. Odate Magewappa products are characterised by their craftsmanship, beautiful grain, and fragrant aroma.
