The Westin St. Francis Launches Pop-Up Champagne Bar

Those seeking a luxurious respite from Union Square shopping can toast to the holidays at “POP By the St. Francis” (#POPBytheStFrancis), a glamorous pop-up champagne bar tucked away in The Westin St. Francis. Located off the Landmark Lobby, this grand space boasts expansive windows overlooking the Macy’s Holiday Tree, the Union Square ice rink, and the iconic cable cars.

Open November 29 through December 31 on Thursdays-Sundays from 12-8 p.m., the stately Colonnade Room will be transformed into a glistening white and gold oasis with sparkling holiday décor and a champagne tree. The menu features splits of Moët Impérial Brut and Chandon Rosé, along with Anchor Steam Christmas Lager and assorted treats such as cheeses and freshly baked goodies. Guests can order at the bar and then settle into one of the cozy communal areas or social tables.

For those seeking sweets to enjoy with their bubbly, the adjacent Sweet Boutique has a selection of delicious freshly baked cookies, orange-scented shortbread, gingerbread men, holiday Parisian macarons, and more. Open November 29 through December 31 on Thursdays-Sundays from 12-8 p.m.

Not to be missed are the two one-of-a-kind holiday castles in the Landmark Lobby. Handcrafted by Executive Pastry Chef Jean François Houdré and his team, the towering 12-ft. Medieval Sugar Castle resembles a life-like magical French Chateau with circular towers, individual rooms, and colorful illuminated windows. The St. Francis Enchanted Castle is a winter wonderland of elaborate gift boxes, gingerbread trees, and brilliantly colored candies, all intricately handmade with sugar and pastry.
