April arrivals in Canada bounce back from the Easter effect

As expected, the Easter holiday rebound in April 2019 offset the slight decline seen in March and helped to lift international overnight arrivals to Canada to a new peak in April 2019 and over the first four months of 2019 (4.4 million, +4.4%). We shared more about the Easter effect when we looked at March arrivals.

Canada saw new monthly arrivals peaks from Mexico (46,000, +102%), China (40,000, +1.4%), France (40,000, +13%), and India (27,000, +27%). The same markets also set new arrivals records for the first four months of the year, as did Australia (71,000, +5%).
