Museum of Tropical Queensland is open with free entry until Sunday

Museum of Tropical Queensland has re-opened to the public and offering free entry until Sunday, 10 February 2019.

Queensland Museum Network CEO Dr Jim Thompson said while the Museum of Tropical Queensland was closed for a number of days during the floods, there was no damage to the museum.

“We were fortunate there was no damage sustained to Museum of Tropical Queensland during these extreme weather events, but we know a lot of the Townsville community was adversely affected,” he said.

“That is why we have made the decision to waive entry fees and open Museum of Tropical Queensland for free until Sunday, 10 February.

“To the Townsville community and everyone involved in the Townsville flood emergency and recovery efforts, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your support.”

Visitors should check local weather conditions and road access, and place their safety, and that of their children, above all else.

Remember that If it’s Flooded – Forget it!

Please check the Museum of Tropical Queensland’s Facebook Page for daily updates and advice on any changes to opening hours due to weather.

The Museum of Tropical Queensland, part of the Queensland Museum Network, is open from 9.30am - 5pm daily.
