The countdown is on until the 2019 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, with the world-renowned Parade set to once again attract thousands of visitors to the Harbour City.
Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall announced today that the NSWGovernment, via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, has secured the event for a further two years.
“More than 52,000 overnight visitors travelled to the Harbour City for this year’s Parade, injecting a whopping $49 million into the State’s visitor economy,” Mr Marshall said.
“With another packed calendar of exhibitions, workshops and performances planned as part of next year’s Mardi Gras, I encourage those thinking of making the trip to start planning early and take some extra time to enjoy all the festivities on offer as part of Mardi Gras 2019.”
