Founded in Bangkok in 2015 by three young foodies, Cookly is the world's largest cooking class platform - a global community of food, culture and travel enthusiasts. Cookly is currently offering more than 800+ cooking classes and food experiences in over 100 destinations.
Cookly's original mission was to serve as a booking platform for cooking schools around the world. By improving the ease and convenience of booking culinary experiences online in more than 100 destinations, the startup quickly won over fans and users from around the world.
Building on this initial success, the company started to engage with their users and partners, seeking improvements to the Cookly experience. This ultimately led to a reconsideration of Cookly's positioning and overall mission, with an emphasis on connecting a community of users with a passion for food and culture.
Cookly's Co-founder and CEO, Benjamin Ozsanay, says: “Our goal is to build a global community that allows our members to share, discover and learn about cultures through local foods and cooking traditions.”
Cookly's passion for food, culture and travel has also led to plans to evolve into a community-focused experience for users. A new iOS app has been launched recently and a variety of new online features are scheduled to be released in 2019. Users can look forward to a revamped experience filled with new content, a loyalty program and even a recipe bank for traditional dishes from around the world.
With its aspiration to build a global community, Cookly is not only focusing on traveling foodies, but also identifying local food enthusiasts living in multicultural cities as members who would enjoy using its platform to learn more about traditional cuisines. Cookly's goal of bringing a community together is blending nicely as it gains momentum, with much to look out for in the coming months.
