The Auckland Convention Bureau (ACB) News November 2017

Our annual ACB Auckland Showcase Lunch held earlier this month was a resounding success. Over 100 business event organisers joined us at ANZ Viaduct Events Centre to meet with over 30 Auckland-based industry partners who were on show to inspire guests. After some in-depth networking everyone was treated to a beautifully-crafted lunch from The Kitchen c/o SKYCITY, live entertainment including the MC stylings of Dominic Bowden and stunning event styling. The ACB team would like to take this opportunity again to thank our partners on the day- Auckland Conventions Venues & Events, The Events Group, The Production and Music Agency, The Kitchen c/o SKYCITY.

For those that joined us, we hope you came away with meeting some fantastic suppliers who are sure to make your next business event unforgettable. If you’re interested in coming along to next year’s event please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Amy Griffith.

Auckland has proved itself to be a cut above the rest in a bid to host the World Beard & Moustache Championships. Hundreds of facial hair enthusiasts from around the globe will descend on Auckland in 2021 to compete in the most outrageous and highly-styled facial hair competition.

Head of ACB Anna Hayward says: "while this bid was a bit hairier than most, it's another great example of how Auckland's vibrancy and appeal as a destination is making us stand out from other cities to secure exciting and interesting international events like this one.

Thinking about bringing a conference to Auckland? Our international bidding team can help make the process easy with assistance every step of the way. From developing an initial strategy through to implementing a winning bid, you’ll have ACB’s expertise, connections and resources at your fingertips. Get in contact with our team today!
