World-class food and wine and popular tourist attractions in the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens will be showcased to representatives from 13 key Chinese travel agencies next week.
The tour will provide the travel agents with a taste of what is on offer in the region to enable them to promote the products and experiences to their clients in China.
NSW Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter and Central Coast Scot MacDonald said the initiative organised by the State’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW in partnership with Air China, targets potential visitors from Western China.
“We are delighted to be providing some of China’s top travel agents with the opportunity to explore this beautiful part of the State, from our award-winning restaurants, beautiful wineries and events in the Hunter Valley, to dolphin watching and quad-biking in Port Stephens,” Mr MacDonald said.
“The exciting initiative will not only place our region in the global spotlight but will leverage the NSW Government’s partnership with Air China, promoting direct travel from Chengdu to NSW, helping to boost our local visitor economy.”
The visit will take place from Saturday 12 November and will also include three nights in Sydney. The Destination NSW advertising campaign will promote travel to NSW with Air China through local television, newspapers, radio, trade magazines and social media channels, targeting potential travellers in Western China.
