Chinese Opera Festival 2016

The Festival is bringing dazzling performances of various genres of Chinese opera, including Kunqu Opera, Peking Opera, Cantonese Opera, Shao Opera from Zhejiang and regional operatic genres from Shandong.

A Monkey King Series showcases the performing art of the Monkey King repertoires in both Southern and Northern styles.

Another series of Kunqu Opera performances features the work of the great Chinese playwright Tang Xianzu to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Tang’s death.
