ISABELLA BLOW: A FASHIONABLE LIFE EXHIBITION EXTENDED

Due to an overwhelming response to the announcement of Isabella Blow: A Fashionable Life exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum, the exhibition season has now been extended through to 28 August 2016.

Showcasing looks from Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy OBE, Julien Macdonald, Hussein Chalayan and more, the wardrobe of the celebrated English fashion editor and stylist Isabella Blow (1958-2007), travels to Australia for an exhibition exclusive to the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney.

The Honourable Daphne Guinness, Founder and Trustee of Isabella Blow Foundation will travel to Australia for the opening of the exhibition on 14 May, which coincides with Wool Week.

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant said this Centre for Fashion exhibition would delight fashion and culture enthusiasts.

“Isabella Blow: A Fashionable Life takes visitors on a journey of twentieth century British fashion through the lens of a fashion editor. Blow’s influence on local Australian and global trends is both immediately evident and fascinating,” Mr Grant said.

NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said the extended exhibition meant more Australians could experience this unique collection.

“This winter, visitors to Sydney have the opportunity to get a close up look at famous works by seminal British designers. With this exhibition secured by Destination NSW, exclusive to Sydney, this is the only place in Australia to see original, early works by designers who are now household names,” Mr Ayres said.
