Canberra's New Movie Trailers Inspire Travellers

Grab some popcorn and a choc top, because Canberra is set to inspire your next travel selfie with a series of cinematic-style short films.

VisitCanberra's new global marketing platform, One Good Thing After Another, begins rolling out this week, showcasing the capital region's great diversity of experiences combined with their close proximity to each other.

VisitCanberra Director Ian Hill said the new platform capitalised on Canberra's unique selling point.

“When you book a trip to Canberra, prepare to experience one good thing after another. Because whether it's world-class food and wine, iconic-national treasures, family-friendly activities or breathtaking outdoor adventures, everything is just moments away,” he said.

“We know many of our target audience are time poor, so this concept of being able to do more in less time is really appealing.”

The platform's first creative application is a series of five curated short films called Weekend Movie Trailers, which are inspired by a diverse range of travel moods – High Energy, Wonder, Relaxed, Indulgence, and Spontaneity.

The films showcase Canberra experiences and attractions in a new light by focusing on the brief, emotionally-charged moments of joy that create long-lasting memories.

VisitCanberra's Weekend Movie Trailers kick off a range of promotional activities in the capital's key target markets of Sydney, regional NSW, Singapore and New Zealand.

And those who find themselves bopping along to the films can download each specifically-composed soundtrack by searching One Good Thing After Another on iTunes.

The next stage of the platform will be rolled out in May, with the launch of a new cutting-edge video itinerary planner App.

The App, which is the first of its kind, will allow users to view, build and share their own movie trailer with family and friends.

The new platform builds on the success of VisitCanberra's award-winning campaigns,Human Brochure and 101 Local Humans by leveraging on authentic experiences and encouraging social advocacy.
