Pacific Islands to Feature at World Trade Market 2015

Eight (8) National Tourism Offices (NTOs) and Private Sector operators from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Kiribati and New Caledonia will feature prominently at the World Trade Market (WTM) 2015 at the ExCel in London from the 2nd to the 5th of November.

The NTOs of the Vanutu and Kiribati have received assistance to attend WTM through a contingency fund grant from the European Union to assist Pacific Island States that were devastated during Cyclone Pam early this year. The funded is managed by the SPTO's Pacific Regional Tourism Capacity Building Programme (PRTCBP).

The WTM is the leading global travel event held in London annually. The business-to-business event offers a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors from the United Kingdom and International travel professionals. It provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.

More than 50,000 senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and international press, visit ExCeL - London every November to network, negotiate and discover the latest industry opinion and trends at WTM.

The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) will join the Pacific team at the event to market the other South Pacific destinations that are not represented at WTM. The Pacific delegation booth will feature at the main boulevard at the event.

SPTO Chief Executive, Ilisoni Vuidreketi said, “The South Pacific participants are looking forward to establishing themselves at WTM as a unique destination.”

“Travel trade events such as WTM offers our members great opportunities to market and promote our Pacific products to a very large number of travel industry professional and travel agents”, he added.

“The SPTO and our member countries continue to work tirelessly to explore and harness marketing opportunities from our long haul markets such as Europe and the UK and WTM is a great event to seek these business opportunities and to stamp our mark as a truly unique destination”, he continued.

The South Pacific Booth AS255 will feature the newly launched 'Traveler's Guide to the Pacific Islands' which will be distributed for free.
