The Pillow Roll - a terrific idea for travellers!

Have you heard of the Pillow Roll? I had not until we were given some for our family recently. They are a brilliant simple concept thought up right here in Australia. It is a wonder that no none came up with the idea long before.

The Pillow Roll is a pillow carrier for travellers. It enables people to safely take their own pillow with them to use when staying the night away from home. It has carry handles, velcro fasteners and comes in a choice of three striped colours. You simply lay your pillow in the Pillow Roll, roll it up, and hold it in place by the velcro.

Our Pillow Rolls have been sitting in our linen cupboard waiting for an opportunity to be used. This opportunity came when my wife and I went on a ten night driving holiday from our home in country NSW to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

In all we stayed at 5 different places. On the way we stayed one night in a charming B&B in Kalbar.  Then we stayed two nights each at different resort apartments in Caloundra, Mooloolaba and Maroochydore. On the way back home we stayed two nights with friends in a new home they have just built at Nanango.

Using the Pillow Rolls meant that the pillows took up less room in our car boot, and the pillows were kept clean of dirt and grime. Taking our own pillows to our holiday lodgings was a simple matter of placing the handles of the Pillow Rolls over the handles of our wheelie bags and carrying them in that way.

The best thing about using the Pillow Rolls was that we could sleep on the comfort of our own pillows in each of our five holiday lodgings, and not have to get used to the 5 different pillows supplied.

I will next use my Pillow Roll when I fly overseas next month to China. It will come in handy for me to take my own pillow on the plane to assist me sleeping during the night flight. It will be good to use my own pillow on the coach trips through China and at each of the hotels I will stay in.
