FILM, CUISINE, AND PRIMO VINO: BOFA ANNOUNCES FESTIVAL TOURS

The Tasmanian Breath of Fresh Air Film Festival (BOFA) has always been known as the "friendly festival" and Launceston’s upcoming event from November 4th – 8th2015 takes the interactive and fun side of the festival one step further.

Under the expert guidance of producer and former WOW Film Festival director Tamara Popper, you can now choose from the following carefully curated events and at the same time, enjoy the Tamar Valley’s famed food and wine…simply pick and choose from the individual selections below to suit your personal itinerary and budget!

No matter whether you’re a Tasmanian or from the "big island", BOFA 2015 invites you to forget your day to day routines, because BOFA’s Festival Tour offers you so many options to take that "breath of fresh air" you’ve been craving!

BOFA’s Behind the Bubbles Tour will give you privileged access to Tasmania’s best sparkling wineries and winemakers. Jansz and House of Arras vineyards feature along with Andrew Pirie's Apogee and a Tasmanian seafood and sparkling wine lunch at Pipers Brook. These small group tours will be led by Tony Walker, author ofVintage Tasmania, the Complete Book of Tasmanian Wine. Wed 4 and Sunday 8 November.

Put on your best frock and bust out your dancing shoes for the official BOFA Red Carpet film and after party. See the highly acclaimed ‘Death or Liberty’ and then join us for the official BOFA 2015 after party - one of the parties of the year! Thursday 5 November.

Indulge in pre-screening canapés and cocktails at the iconic Mud Bar & Restaurant located at the Launceston seaport hosted by highly regarded Tasmanian writer/director Roger Scholes. Scholes’ classic feature film ‘The Tale Of Ruby Rose’ is included in BOFA’s screening program. Friday 6 November.

Enjoy a superb selection of Tasmania’s finest produce, displayed on delicious platters (includes assortment of oysters, salmon, beef, quail and cheese) as well as a glass of sparkling rose’ upon arrival at the famous Barrel Room at Velo Wines, hosted by Owen Tilbury, BOFA Festival Director, with anecdotes and reminiscences about the origins and challenges of creating the world class BOFA Film Festival. The ‘Taste of the Tamar Valley’ tour allows you to go behind the scenery as Goaty Hill Wines joins with Casa Paella and a range of Tamar Valley producers to offer a series of gourmet cooking classes. Geared towards seasonality, local ingredients and great food and wine, the class showcase the best of the region. Join Chef Edrick Corban-Banks as he demonstrates how to cook authentic Valencian Paella. Understand the seasonal workings of the Goaty Hill vineyard with a personal vineyard tour followed by a wine tasting with Goaty Hill owner, Natasha Nieuwhof. Saturday 7 November.

Typically industry only, the Devil Awards night champions the highly creative Tasmanian film industry and is now exclusively open to BOFA Tour guests. Saturday 7 November.

Attend a pre-screening morning brunch at the national award winning Stillwater Restaurant. Meet filmmakers Claude Gonzalez, Jamie Oxenbould and Tamara Popper who will take you through the filmmaking process with anecdotes from story ideas, scripting, financing, casting, pre-production, rehearsals, shooting, post-production and marketing. Sunday 8 November.
