Sydneysiders and visitors alike are invited to join in the fun of K-FEST Sydney 2015. The two day FREE festival event held at Palm Grove, Darling Harbour on Saturday 12 and Sunday, 13 September (10-5pm) will highlight all things Korean - K-Food, K-Pop, K-Spirit, K-Style & K-Place.
K-Fest Sydney 2015 organised by Korea Tourism Organization in association with JK Entertainment is expected to draw large crowds over the two day event. The Director of the Sydney office Mr. Sang-weon Je welcomes the opportunity to host the event in Sydney with the support of the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.
Director Sang-weon Je said, "K-Fest Sydney 2015 will be a great chance for Sydneysiders and visitors to the city to join a free and fun two day event where they can learn more about Korea, it's culture and traditions and see why Korea has become such a popular destination for Australian travellers. Australians have fallen in love with Korean food and many young people are obsessed with K-Pop and K-Style, so it's a wonderful chance for us to bring a taste of Korean tourism and culture to Darling Harbour."
The highly popular performers of 'The Original Drawing Show' coming from Korea will be the major attraction at the event showcasing their live drawing sessions on the main stage. They bring the magic of art and performance together with their rapid drawings and instant art transformations. Their high energy performances are a guaranteed crowd pleaser. They will perform three times per day on both Saturday and Sunday.
Visitors to the event will be able to enjoy an exciting mix of traditional and modern dance and music, Korean cuisine and hands-on activities like temple lantern making, dress and take photos in traditional Korean costume in front of a royal palace scene to share with family and friends.
There will be opportunities to enjoy and learn more about Korean food. MasterChef 2012 contestant Amina Elshafei will give a kimchi making demonstration and visitors to the event will be able to enjoy great Korean street food from Sydney's popular POKLOL as well as children will enjoy the swirling potato stick and Dippin Dots ice cream.
The main stage will be alive with performances daily from 12noon-4pm with three live performances by The Original Drawing Show from Korea as well as K-Pop performances from girl group Sweety J from the JK M Academy Dance Studio. There may even be a chance for the audience to relive a little 'Gangnam Style' and join in the dance.
