Tourism New Zealand voted Best International Destination for Adventure

New Zealand has won the award for the Best International Destination for Adventure by the Lonely Planet Magazine India Travel Awards 2015 for the third time. The winners are selected by magazine readers who vote for the best destination under each category.

Steven Dixon, Regional Manager – South and South East Asia, Tourism New Zealand says, “We are happy to receive this award for the third year highlighting New Zealand as Indian travellers’ most preferred destination for adventure. We look forward to building a stronger connection with new and existing travellers and further amplifying offerings in this category.”

New Zealand offers a wide range of adventure activities that allow travellers to experience the country’s diverse and dramatic landscapes from the land, sky and water. Activities like skydiving, bungee jumping, biking, cycling, hiking, surfing, fly- fishing, glacier walking and jet-boating are popular amongst visitors.

Queenstown, Wanaka, Abel Tasman National Park, Milford Sound and Franz Josef Glacier have been ranked by the awards as the top five most famous destinations in New Zealand for all seasons.

The Lonely Planet Magazine India Travel Awards 2015 were presented in Mumbai on June 22, 2015. The Best International Destination for Adventure award was received by Neha Bhola, Country Manager India, Tourism New Zealand. The first and second runners-up in the category were South Africa and Australia, respectively.
