Disney’s Shanghai Store Opens as First Store in China and Largest in the World

The largest Disney store in the world opened to the public this week in Shanghai.

The 53,000-square-foot store is located in the heart of Shanghai’s financial district; it is the first Disney store in China, and one of the 340+ that company runs worldwide. 

The store has a 19-feet-high castle (a replica of the Magic Kingdom) at its center, which serves as the base for hourly performances. 

There is also an outdoor plaza with Disney plantings. The store is the first taste of Disney in Shanghai – the massive Shanghai Disney is slated to open in spring of 2016.
