Southern Coconut Cuisine Festival in Ben Tre Province

In the framework of Ben Tre Coconut Festival 2015 with the theme “Ben Tre Coconut – Integration and Development”, from 7 to 13 April 2015, in Hoang Lam Statue Park (Hung Vuong Street, Ward 5, Ben Tre City), the Southern Coconut Cuisine Festival will take place to introduce typical dishes of Southern localities, especially dishes made from coconut.

The festival attracts the participations of Ben Tre Women’s Union, tourist sites, restaurants, cooking facilities in districts and city of Ben Tre Province, Mekong Delta provinces, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province.

The Southern Coconut Cuisine Festival will be divided into 2 areas, including cuisine and tourism promotion, arranged in the spacious and airy space, next to Ben Tre Floating Restaurant and Ham Luong Restaurant – Hotel.

With over 50 stalls of nearly 30 units, the cuisine area (open 7h-23h) will introduce to visitors many delicious dishes, especially traditional dishes of Ben Tre. Besides, the tourism promotion area with 20 booths of Mekong Delta provinces and Ben Tre’s enterprises will help visitors to learn about tourism of the localities. Here, enterprises will also offer Ben Tre tours and inter-regional tours such as: Giong Trom - Ba Tri tour to historical sites, architecture works, traditional craft villages (My Long rice paper, Son Doc phong cake); eco-tours to Chau Thanh Garden and South Ben Tre; tours to Cho Lach and Mo Cay orchards, flowers and ornamentals; tour to Mo Cay Nam and Thanh Phu; Ben Tre carriage tour and tourism program “Sparkling waterways”.

Currently, preparations for the festival are actively implemented, ready for visitors to visit and explore Ben Tre.

The successful organization of the Southern Coconut Cuisine Festival is the opportunity to introduce and promote Ben Tre’s tourism potentials and cuisine to domestic and international visitors; at the same time link tours and routes among localities in the province and other provinces in the region; contribute to economic development, improving the lives of coconut planters and value of coconut; thereby confirming the brand of Ben Tre tourism in the Mekong Delta and the country.
