Melbourne's Hotel Windsor has introduced a new range of Autumn-themed pastries to its famous afternoon tea menu, and is also running an exclusive Noritake tea cup giveaway throughout March to celebrate the change of season.
"I always think Melbourne is at its very best during the Autumn months," Hotel Windsor CEO David Perry said. "The Windsor is an integral part of any Melbourne experience and the hotel's renowned afternoon tea is a wonderful highlight in a day spent exploring the city's laneways, shops and gardens."
The new pastry range, created by the Hotel Windsor's Head Pastry Chef Gette Eliso includes a lemon delight with lemon cream, blood orange jelly, fennel sable biscuit and Italian meringue, a raspberry green tea slice featuring a green tea sponge layered with white chocolate and a lycee mousse, and a a blueberry cheesecake made from a vanilla cream cheese with honey oat crumble and blueberry compote.
The pastries feature on the Hotel Windsor's elegant three-tiered silver afternoon tea stands, alongside the house-made scones and jams and selection of ribbon sandwiches. Afternoon tea also includes a glass of sparkling wine and a choice of 15 exclusive Windsor teas. The Hotel Windsor serves afternoon tea seven days a week, and on weekends there is a lavish dessert buffet and chocolate fountain,
And throughout March the Windsor is offering all afternoon tea guests the opportunity to win an elegant Noritake tea cup and saucer, identical to those used by The Hotel Windsor and valued at $90, simply by posting a snapshot of their afternoon tea experience to the Windsor's Facebook or Instagram pages. A winner will be selected at random at 12 noon every day of the month.

The Windsor celebrated its 130th anniversary in 2013. Built in 1883, the 180-room hotel pre-dates the Savoy in London, which was built in 1889, the Waldorf Astoria in New York which dates back to 1893, and the Ritz Paris which opened in 1898.
The Windsor won the title of Australasia's Leading Hotel in the 2014 Annual World Travel Awards. The awards were established in 1993 to recognise and acknowledge excellence in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry worldwide.
