Atura Blacktown Tops Tourism Awards Proving NSW's Best Is in Sydney's West

The lights of Sydney's Darling Harbour set the backdrop to a glittering celebration of the year's top achievers at the 25th annual NSW Tourism Awards at which Atura Blacktown was named winner of the Standard Accommodation Award for Excellence.

The NSW Tourism Awards is prestigious ceremony held annually to celebrate the industry's leading tourism and accommodation providers. To be eligible for the award, entrants must first earn a place on the finalist list through an intensive submission process and interview by an independent judge.

This win caps off golden award-season for Atura Blacktown – the latest hotel brand to be launched by renowned hotel and entertainment brand Amalgamated Holdings Pty Limited (AHL) - owner also of multi-award winning QT Hotels and Resorts, Rydges Hotels and Resorts, Art Series Hotels, Event Cinemas and Thredbo Resort. Atura Blacktown was also awarded 'Best Mid-Range Accommodation Australia' at the 2014 Australian Hotel Association Awards, best 'Mid-Range Hotel Accommodation of the Year' at the 2014 Tourism Accommodation Awards (NSW) Awards for Excellence and Best Mid-Range Hotel Accommodation of the Year at the 2014 Australian Hotel Association Awards for Excellence.

Taking a fresh approach to the mid-market hotel concept, Atura Blacktown fuses bespoke designer furniture, industrial styling and dynamic open-plan spaces with the latest technology at surprisingly affordable prices. Exemplary service standards and a broad range of complimentary extras add to the brand's appeal; standard to the hotel offering which provides free Wi-Fi, in room movies, coffee pod machines in every room, bathroom amenities by New York's Malin + Goetz and car parking name but a few of the extras guests would usually expect to pay more for.

The impactful interior was designed by renowned interior designer Nic Grahamand styled by Melbourne-based Anna Roberts – both of whom are key collaborators for the multi-award winning QT Hotels & Resorts brand. The creative force behind the property's building and exterior design was architect Peter Israel.

“We're proud to achieve this recognition both for Atura Blacktown and for the Atura Hotel brand. Being recognised as an industry leader by NSW Tourism strengthens our determination to expand Atura Hotel's presence nationally.” said Group Managing Director, AHL David Seargeant. “It is an exciting time for Atura Hotels following the recent launch of our second property in Dandenong, Victoria and ahead of the launch of our new Albury property on 8 December 2014.”

“From the outset, the response to our mid-market design-led Atura Hotel brand has been exceptionally positive which serves to reaffirm our commitment to develop more Atura Hotel properties around Australia,” said Mr Seargeant.
