Horsing around in Jing'an

Life-size puppet horse Joey visits the Jing An Kerry Centre as part of a promotion for the play “War Horse” to be staged in Shanghai next year.

The play, which premiered in the UK seven years ago, will be staged in the Chinese language.

Joey is operated by three puppet actors, who can make it perform all kinds of horse movements, including galloping, jumping, breathing, and even sneezing.

Since 2007, more than 3,000 performances of the play have been seen by about 5 million people across the world.
