New Hotels in Brisbane

Hospitality operators are tapping into Brisbane's potential with two new hotels, NEXT and TRYP set to open in the next two months.

The new properties come on the back of five other hotel openings this year, including the 18-story Alpha Mosaic Hotel in Fortitude Valley (opened 1 June 2014), the 68-room boutique Gambaro Hotel just metres from Suncorp Stadium in Caxton Street (opened May 2014), the 246-room Four Points by Sheraton located near Brisbane's Botanic Gardens (opened March 2014), the 81-storey Infinity Apartments in Herschel Street (opened January 2014), and the 234 one and two bedroom M&A Apartments in the heart of Fortitude Valley (opened January 2014).

TRYP Fortitude Valley Hotel

Global hospitality giant Wyndham Worldwide is set to make its mark on Brisbane when it launches the first TRYP-branded hotel in the South Pacific, in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley on 1 September this year.

Located on the old Brisbane Buffalo Club site, central to the city's entertainment precinct, the 65-room TRYP Fortitude Valley Hotel will rival TRYP 'siblings' operating in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Lisbon and New York.

Prior to construction, the site was an underground street art haven that provided world-acclaimed street artists such as Fintan, Brisbane-raised Magee, Rone, Beastman and Numskull a platform and space to paint their murals. As a salute to its past, the hotel will dedicate each storey to an artist and display eye-popping murals.

The hotel will also be home to UP, Brisbane's newest rooftop bar with a capacity for 240 people
cocktail style and Chur, a lobby-level restaurant. Warren Turnbull, the acclaimed two-hat chef, formerly of Restaurant Assiette, will manage both venues.
