Is This Australia's Ultimate Internship?

As the semester draws to an end and Universities across Australia break for holidays, students are urged to give up their travel and down time to fill their resumes with internships - but a leading Australian travel experience provider is giving students the opportunity to do both at the same time.

Experience Oz has launched the search for those to participate in what they are dubbing 'Australia's Ultimate Internship', giving students the chance to experience over 30 of Australia's top experiences and attractions across 3000kms of the East Coast.

The internship includes 14 days of paid travel for four people, stopping in Cairns, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Sydney and Melbourne, with all expenses valued at $20,000 including accommodation, experiences, car hire, flights and most meals.

Experience Oz Business Development Manager Michelle Woodroff said the successful candidate will get to share the internship experience with three friends for the two action packed weeks.

“The internship will see four interns visit six iconic cities, alongside an Experience Oz representative, exploring some of Australia's most unique attractions down the East Coast and showcasing their best experiences through photos, blogs, social media and video, which will look great on their resume,” she said.

“The internship will include anything but sitting at a desk or running coffee errands, instead interns will be jet boating, hot air ballooning, snorkelling, exploring wildlife and visiting theme parks,”

“It's a great opportunity for those with a passion for travel adventures, looking to build their portfolios and learn new skills in media production and social media along the way.”

Applications are now open and those looking to apply will need to submit a visual resume, providing their best travel photos, videos or showcase some of their favourite landmarks or experiences in their own city.

Ms Woodroff said with approximately 2.1 million* people studying at a higher education institution, TAFE or other education institutions in Australia, internships are highly competitive.

“Internship applications generally boom as students break for semester holidays, with many students trying to pack in work experience into their holidays so candidates are encouraged to get their entries in fast.”

Applications are now open and close 30th of June 2014, with successful candidates announced on 1st of July 2014. The internship will take place from 14th of July 2014 and entrants must be 18 years and over.
