Beat the Budget (Smuggler) Blues

Scoot, Singapore's fun-loving and great value budget carrier has significantly changed the way we travel, and Scoot is celebrating its 2nd birthday, announcing it has carried a whopping 2.6 million passengers by the 2nd anniversary of its inaugural flight in June 2012.

Delivery of Scoot's Boeing 787 Dreamliners starts with one in November, and Singapore Airlines has announced it will spend S$400 million buying stock in Scoot who they set up two years ago as a long- and medium-haul low-fare carrier, to compete against budget carriers that account for more than 50 percent of the seats in Singapore. Scoot has 20 Dreamliners on order.

Australians now have the opportunity, to fly to Singapore and return for under $300 – including all fares and taxes. From Perth, the fare is a tiny $219 return and Gold Coasters can Scoot from $269 return, with Sydneysiders flying from $299 return.

On sale from 1200 on Weds 4th June, 2014 – until 2359 (GMT +10) (2159 Perth) on Sunday 8th June - for travel immediately, and until October 25th 2014 (some blackout periods apply)

What is Scoot all about?

In the first 24 months, Scoot has grown to operate 6 aircraft to 13 cities in 7 countries and territories. It has grown from a team of four to now employing 600 people and has carried more than 2.6 million guests (and counting!).

Since launch, Scoot's load factor averages over 80%. More than 93% of flights depart within 15 minutes of schedule, and more than 92% of guests are checked-in within 10 minutes of joining the check-in queue. Its baggage handling performance is twice as good as the industry average.

All the while, Scoot has remained committed to its core values of being safe, reliable, and a fun airline that provides unbeatable value airfares… with a touch of Scootitude.

Said Campbell Wilson, CEO of Scoot, “We're extremely grateful for the support we've received during our first two years in the air, and humbled to have carried more than 2.6 million people already. We've worked hard to establish ourselves and built a reliable, great value airline, with Scootitude, but having done so, rest assured that we're not letting up. We will continue to raise the bar higher, with even better performance, brand new 787 aircraft, more new destinations and, of course, more fantastic fares to come! “
