Caloundra are poised for an exciting year, by looking further afield to generate new tourism business for the Sunshine Coast. They will be reaching out together and penetrating new markets in the UK & Germany during 2014.

Narrows Escape has linked exclusively with Caloundra's Rumba Beach Resort to gain brand exposure at national and offshore trade shows linking rainforest with the quintessential beach visitor experience. By working together, both properties also stay up to date with consumer preferences from across Western Europe.

Co-owner of Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat, Mark Skinner says that having established a strong market position domestically, they are now ready to capitalise on the growth from the inbound markets of the United Kingdom and Germany.

“We have been working the European market separately to Rumba for a few years now, but this year the strategy is to work together to create a strong and united force to promote the region. The Sunshine Coast is the perfect destination as the rainforest and the beach are within an easy reach of each other. It really is a natural fit between Narrows Escape and Rumba Beach Resort”, Mr Skinner continued.

New opportunities exist for both properties to be pro-active through representation at Australian Tourism Exchange, Australia's premier tourism trade event and the largest international travel trade show in the Southern Hemisphere. They are also participating in sales and marketing activities in the UK and Europe later in the year to further spur sales for unique and interesting destinations with visitors from these international markets.
