Leading accommodation provider Oaks Hotels & Resorts is capping off an incredible start to 2014, opening three new properties in as many months and announcing plans to open its first Mackay property in the second half of the year, under the direction of Thai-based owner Minor Hotel Group.
January saw the highly anticipated opening of Oaks Grand Gladstone, the 144-room development spanning nine levels in the city's CBD. The property offers travellers a 4.5 star accommodation choice in a supremely central location, superior leisure facilities, popular onsite dining establishments including The Coffee Club and Ribs and Rumps and state-of-the-art conference and event venues.
The acquisition of Oaks Mews in March signaled a milestone 20th Queensland property to open under Oaks Hotels & Resorts, positioned in the popular inner-city suburb of Bowen Hills and neighbouring the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital. The 4.5 star property combines spacious, self-contained apartment accommodation in one and two bedroom configurations with premier onsite leisure facilities including a sauna, swimming pool, fully equipped gymnasium and outdoor entertaining area.
March also heralded the arrival of Oaks Hotels & Resorts' fifth Melbourne property, the newly built Oaks Pinnacle in South Yarra, joining sister properties Oaks on Collins, Oaks on Market, Oaks on Lonsdale and Oaks on William.
Plans have also been announced to open a 21st Queensland property in July 2014, Oaks Rivermarque Mackay; the company's first foray into the historical sugar region. Fronting the iconic Pioneer River, the 4.5 star property will span eight levels and offer both business and leisure travellers the choice of 138 contemporary hotel rooms, studios and self-contained one and bedroom apartments.
General Manager of Sales for Oaks Hotels & Resorts, Daniel Csortan, commented, “These recent property openings and announcements signify a growing presence for Oaks Hotels & Resorts in the Australian accommodation market and the continuation of an extremely successful year of business. Oaks Hotels & Resorts will continue with its expansion plans in 2014, with additional properties in Australia and overseas set to be announced over the coming months.”
