Louisville: ‘Fun, Fun, Fun’ With The Beach Boys at Abbey Road On The River

Louisville will play host to a legendary group known for hit songs, “California Girls,” “I Get Around,” and “Fun, Fun, Fun,” when they perform at the largest Beatles tribute festival in America.

The Beach Boys will headline the 2104 Abbey Road on the River on May 25 at 8:30 p.m. The five-day music, art and food festival is under way Memorial Day weekend (May 22-26) at the Belvedere Festival Park, Galt House Hotel & Suites and the Muhammad Ali Center.

This year’s festival will honor the 50th anniversary of the British invasion by featuring 200 concerts on eight indoor and outdoor stages.

It kicks off May 22 at 11:45 a.m. with a free lunchtime concert at the Muhammad Ali Center. Featuring performances by Hal Bruce, The Beatribes and Classicstone.

Another highlight of Abbey Road on the River is a Q&A session with The Beatle’s longtime secretary Freda Kelly. Other special activities include: The Give Peace A Chance photography exhibit, screenings of the documentary “Good Ol Freda” and presentations by former CEO of Apple Records Tony Bramwell.

Singer, songwriter, guitarist and autoharpist John Sebastian will open for The Beach Boys on May 25 at 7 p.m. Sebastian is the founder of The Lovin’ Spoonful, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band who topped the charts with hits like “Do You Believe in Magic,” “Summer in the City,” “Daydream,” and “Nashville Cat.”
