The inaugral International Media Marketplace (IMM) 2014 commenced yesterday in Palm Cove, just up the road from Cairns in Tropical North Queensland.
This first day of the three day event was attended by many international and local media who listened to presentations from each State and Territory in Australia. They met at the Grand Chancellor Resort to hear about the remarkable growth of tourism in Australia and the special programs and efforts that have helped to achieve this.
This was followed by a Welcome Cocktail Reception on the deck of the Nu Nu Restaurant at the Alamanda Resort. A wonderful variety of gourmet Australian finger food was served as the guests mingled under the stars, fairy lights and palm trees. This was sponsored by Tourism and Events Queensland and Tourism Australia.
Today will be a busy day for everyone when media meet with tourism operators from the various states and territories in Australia.
