TTF Chennai showcases top destinations of 2014

The Travel and Tourism Fair, TTF, part of India’s biggest network of travel fairs, opened at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. A large number of travel and tourism organisations are showcasing top destinations for holidays and business travel.

The three-day annual trade fair has brought together more than 160 participants from all over India and abroad, including representations from 16 Indian states and 10 countries. While Friday and part of Saturday is reserved for travel trade visitors, Saturday afternoon onwards the show is open for all, to facilitate weekend travel shopping.

A visit to TTF is a delightful experience, as colourful pavilions and stalls are presenting glimpses, feel and flavour of their destinations and holiday products and packages.

Participating with private sector operators are Partner States Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh and Feature States Kerala, Karnataka and Jharkhand. Other states being represented are Delhi, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Rajasthan and West Bengal. Tamil Nadu Tourism, the Host State, also has a strong presence at TTF Chennai.

The international participation at TTF Chennai is led by Nepal, the Partner Country and Malaysia & Oman, the Feature Countries (coming to Bangalore for the first time). TTF Chennai also has private representations from Canada, Switzerland, Maldives, Bali, Mauritius and Bhutan. India Tourism is present with a sizeable pavilion displaying Incredible India.

Aiming to welcome 8 lakh Indian tourists in Visit Malaysia Year 2014, with aggressive promotions focused on adventure tourism, beach activities and island tourism, Tourism Malaysia and AirAsia is promoting incredible packages, including one-way air ticket between Chennai and Kuala Lumpur for only @ Rs 6,500, and Langkawi or Penang at an additional Rs 1,237, valid only for three days at TTF Chennai.

TTF is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India; the Host State, Tamil Nadu; and distinguished travel industry bodies including Incredible India; Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA); Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI); Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI); Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI); Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and the Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA). Lavasa is the Destination Partner of TTF Chennai.

TTF Chennai offers fascinating glimpses of hundreds of tourist destinations from across India and the world. In addition to State and National Tourism organisations, a large number of hotels, resorts, travel agents, tour operators, cruise lines, railways and travel portals are taking part in the event.

Last weekend, TTF concluded in Bangalore on high note recording a good number of visitor turnout. The TTF is also organised in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat and Pune. Guwahati has been added this year, to include India’s North East region in the TTF network.
