The Mount Barker Co-operative Ltd Grapes & Gallops incorporates two of the major industries within the region - wine and thoroughbred horse racing. The festival will feature a VIP luncheon, wine tasting from local wineries, gourmet food, live music and nine thoroughbred horse races (including the richest sprint in the Great Southern region - the $90,000 Mungrup Stud Sprint).
