UPPER HUNTER WINE AND FOOD AFFAIR
Wine and Food lovers from near and far will gather for this years Hunter's Best Street Party - the Upper Hunter Food Affair.
Held each year on the 1st Saturday in May, Ogilvie Street transforms into a Wine and Food gourmet feast extravaganza.
An incredible collection of street food, gourmet take home foods and the unique flavours of world renowned Upper Hunter wines.
The Upper Hunter Wine and Food Affair, created by the Denman Chamber of Commerce, has become known as the Hunter Valley's "Best Street Party". There will be fantastic free live bands, entertainment for the children, and street theatre.
Scenic Helicopter Flights will take you on a fantastic ride over the picturesque township Denman and surrounding valley. Experience the thrill of being airborne as the helicopter flies over our 10th Anniversary Wine & Food Affair. The views over Denman and the Hunter River will simply amaze you.
There will be loads of Free Children’s Entertainment on the day. Memorial Park is the perfect place to base yourself if you have littler children, we have Sparkles the Clown based there who mesmerises the children by keeping them occupied and entertained for hours on end giving you the perfect opportunity to taste some of the great local produce available.
They also have Jake the Magician who will be sharing his magical moments with festival goers. There will also be plenty of children’s rides in the park along with free face painting. The wonderful Stilt Walkers will be back again this year, strolling down the street amazing people with their mythical mime antics and vying for peoples attentions from the Dixieland Roving Jazz Band.
Musical entertainment is in abundance with the ever popular Muswellbrook Shire Band taking centre stage in front of the Memorial Hall along with other popular acts to return such as Kyda Rock, Tickle Me Chookskin, and the Rhythm & Brass Jazz Band.
A new feature for this year will be a wood chopping display led by World Champion local boy Phillip ‘Pop’ Waters. This spectacle is a must see on the day, as the splinters will be flying off the blocks in record time.
A magnificent display of vintage cars will be on show in all their glory to showcase just how delightful it was to get around on 4 wheels back then.
