Staging Connections produces Hollywood inspired gala

Staging Connections delivered all audio visual, theming, styling and digital services for Shangri-La hotel, Sydney’s Hotel Of The Year Awards Hollywood themed gala dinner for 250 guests, transforming the Ballroom into a lavish setting covered in black and gold décor on 6 June 2016.

The Hollywood theme dictated all styling choices, with black table cloths teamed with gold satin tie back chair covers, and gold candleholders chosen as the table centrepieces overflowing with red orchids. Curved black lampstand chandeliers dripping with black crystals lined the lobby and decorative panels sat on either side of the ballroom to further emphasise the ‘tinsel town’ theme.

Staging Connections’ branding solution, Event Backdrop was utilised, on the main stage showcasing a custom graphic print that sat inside two gold Hollywood Showbiz statues. Our onsite team created multimedia to be displayed on the dual projection screens and used moving lights, including Colourblaze high-performance linear LED fixtures to add impact and make the room sparkle.

Glenn Baines, Venue Service Manager NSW for Staging Connections commented on the immensely successful, highly-styled gala awards.

“The event was a complete success and was another memorable event for the Staging Connections team. The Hollywood theme accentuated the excitement of attendees and everyone enjoyed being immersed in the lively atmosphere.

“We used our social media engagement tool, Event Feed, to promote the audience sharing moments from their night via social media, then we moderated the feed and showed their tweets and Instagram photos on the big screen. It was a really beautiful way for people to get involved, with many celebrating and congratulating other teams’ successes,” said Mr Baines.

Robert Belicena, Director of Events Management at Shangri-La hotel, Sydney commented on the professionalism of the Staging Connections team.
